Last weekend we had the Blue lakes 2 regatta. It was great to see such a good turn out with 93 competitors. Especially good to see so many junior K4s out.
I was pleased to be able to race and come away with a win in both the K1 1000 and K1 500. I was supposed to be recovering from the Mountains to Sea race that was planned the weekend before but because of bad weather and a flooded river the event was called off.
Below is a picture of the start of the K1 500, not quite Duisburg when it comes to course layout but it did the job with 8 lanes and markers every 250.
Following the regatta we had a NZ high performance camp. This was really good for everybody to get together and do some great sessions in a inspiring environment.
Below is a picture of Troy and myself doing a technique/recovery paddle. About 5 degrees but really good water with no weed.
About to head home for a cooked breakfast.
